I can’t wait to share this beautiful proposal at Brant Point Lighthouse with you. It was such a beautiful day here on the island, and even though we had to pivot plans last minute, these two ended up with the best memories of the day Emily said YES.

When the big day arrived, so did rain in the forecast.
So, we shifted their session to the afternoon and ended up with the dreamiest weather. The skies turned bright blue, the water sparkled, and the whole beach felt calm and joyful. As a Nantucket photographer, days like this always make me so happy!
It is a place filled with memories from years spent together. After meeting at the University of Michigan and building a life together in Boston, they knew this island would be the perfect place to start their next chapter.

Jack chose this spot because it is one of the most iconic places on the island. Every time they take the ferry to and from Nantucket, they pass the lighthouse.
Even with the last minute change in timing, the afternoon light could not have been more beautiful. The beach roses were in bloom, the water was a soft blue, and a sailboat drifted by in the distance while we walked along the beach after Emily said yes.
It doesn’t get more Nantucket than that!

Emily and Jack chose outfits that fit the vibe so well. Emily wore a blue and white patterned dress from Show Me Your Mumu (you can get it here!) that looked beautiful against the soft beach colors. Jack kept things classic in a light blue button-down, gray pants, and white sneakers. They perfectly complimented the environment while staying true to their personal style.
One of my favorite details was Emily’s custom Staud bag with an illustration of their dog, Zoey, on the front. It was such a sweet touch and made the session feel even more personal.

After the proposal, Jack and Emily celebrated with dinner from Cru at Nantucket Golf Club. The best surprise came next: both of their families were waiting there to celebrate with them.
This ended up being the most special day for these two, and I love knowing they have these images to look back on the memories fondly.
So many people travel to the Island every year to make memories. Being able to capture those to take home with them? What an honor.

It was such a joy to photograph these two and capture such an exciting moment in their story.
