Will and Molly’s wedding finally arrived! I had been so excited about their wedding ever since their engagement session. Their engagement session was simply the best. We had such a great time strolling through downtown Sconset and enjoyed the end of their session at the beach. This is one of my most favorite spots on Nantucket all year round. During our time we talked about all the amazing details of their wedding day and I got to know more about them than I already had. Aside from how amazing their wedding day sounded, I was most excited to work with such an amazing couple. I knew that this wedding was going to be great when they told me they were having ‘build your own tacos’ for dinner. How amazing is that?!
The day couldn’t have been more perfect. It was such a beautiful day in October, it felt like a summer’s day. I met Molly at her childhood home where she was getting ready. Her Mother and Sister were there helping her along the way. Molly had the most beautiful dress. It was a two-piece dress with the most gorgeous floral detailing. Her dress was paired with the prettiest of accessories such as a delicately detailed veil, a jeweled hair barrette, a pair of blush shoes, and a jeweled belt. She also had emerald green earrings that Will had gifted her the day of the wedding. Her engagement ring also was beautiful. It was an heirloom passed down to her from her family. I just adore family heirlooms, they hold so much history and meaning. So many wonderful moments happened during this time. One of my most favorite moments was when Molly’s Father saw her for the first time before they drove into town together. There is always something so special about that time between the Bride and her Father.
The ceremony took place at the historic Quaker Meeting House. Such a beautiful and quaint place to have a ceremony. I loved seeing Molly being walked down the aisle with her father right by her side. Will was so happy to see his beautiful Bride. The ceremony was presented by one of their friends. It makes it extra special to be able to have a friend or family member do this for you. It reminds me of my wedding when I had my Aunt as our officiant. The ceremony was short and sweet. At the very end of the ceremony, there was a surprise. A confetti bomb was popped to celebrate the newlyweds.
After the ceremony Will and Molly had their photos taken around downtown Main St. It’s always so fun having photos through town. People always wave and congratulate the couple as they drive or walk by. I loved this time spent with the Bride and Groom because I enjoy their company. We had such a great time together. The love that these to have for each other is so sweet to be able to capture it was even sweeter. They were beaming with happiness. Molly was so beautiful in her wedding dress and had the most incredible bouquet in hand. Will was so handsome in his blue tux. I loved that his paper flower boutonniere was made by hand by Molly. So fun and unique. He also wore a rope bracelet that was given to him by Molly on the day of the wedding. After we strolled around town they took their getaway car to the reception.
Their reception was so amazing! It took place in a family member’s beautiful backyard. I love how intimate this backyard wedding was. Everyone in the family helped put this wonderful wedding together. They put so much thought into every detail. The minute you walk into the backyard you are greeted by the guest table. Their place cardholder was the guest’s childhood photo. Which I thought was a great idea! At the table, there were beautiful flowers in fun-colored collected bottles. The flowers were from Molly’s great Aunt’s garden and they were mixed with handmade flowers made by the couple. They also made their streamers that decorated the sides of the tents. Each table and chair were collected and were not the same. They made their own special cocktail menu that had fit both the Bride and Grooms taste. There was a beautiful charcuterie spread and they had a raw bar with oysters from Maine. They had make your own tacos for dinner. Such a fun idea and so delicious. Their cake was from the Milk Bar delivered all the way from New York City and the cupcakes were made by the family. The food was also catered by family as well.
Molly and Will shared a first dance together when they got back from town. Such a special moment to watch. They, of course, kept it fun and fast-paced. We then photographed the family formals and kept that short and sweet. I could see that their family and friends were having such a great time throughout the evening. They had so much fun during dance time as well! Some seriously good dance moves and great music. After dinner, Molly shared a private Father and Daughter dance. They finished the evening by having delicious cupcakes and cake.
I can’t believe how fun their wedding was! I had such a blast and it was such an honor to be a part of a wonderful wedding. I wish the couple a lifetime of happiness. Cheers and please enjoy their wedding!
