Brian and Alex had reached out to me back in July of 2020 because they wanted me to photograph their wedding in June. Their wedding is going to be at the Peconic Bay Yacht Club in Southold, NY. What a gorgeous place to have a wedding! And of course, I said yes to being their photographer! The first thing to plan was their engagement session which was late summer of last year. They had always wanted to visit Nantucket so this was a perfect little end of the summer getaway. I was so excited for the day to come to meet them!

The day finally arrived and we had such beautiful weather. They wanted to have a session that was easy-going and casual. They love the charm of Nantucket and so they wanted to have that in their images. I met them at the inn where they were staying and started their session on a quiet street off upper Main Street. This little street was wonderful because of the fence that was covered with beautiful hydrangeas. We then went to the neighboring streets to capture the Nantucket architecture they loved so much. Before our final stop, we headed to Children’s beach to take some photos of the water and boats in the background. We then headed towards Steps Beach for our last location but before we got there we had to stop on Cobblestone Hill. This street is so charming! We just took a few pictures there and off to Steps we went. Steps beach is known for its rolling dunes and incredible view so it’s a must to see. When we got there the wind was blowing strong and it was cold. Which made for some cute pictures because they had to hold each other tight. We had that wonderful glow from the sun and finished the night with a sunset.

I loved how at each location we went to there was hardly anyone around. It was like we had the island to ourselves. I felt that we captured the charm of Nantucket we all love. From the architecture, the boats, the water, the cobblestones, the sand, and the views. Working with Brain and Alex was amazing. We had such a great time and it was wonderful getting to know them more before their wedding day. I can’t wait for that day to come and it will be here before you know it. It is going to be such a great day full of family, love, food, drinks, and dancing!
