This sweet family wanted to have a summer vacation on Nantucket because they had never been to the island before. Since they weren’t familiar with the area they trusted me to choose the location. I chose Washing Pond Beach because it is out of town, not many people are there during the evening and it is a great beach for children. I also love the natural beauty of this location with its rolling dunes, and beautiful beach grass, and in the summer months, you can enjoy the sunset.

On the day of their session, I met them at the beach just before sunset. On the way to the beach, we had luminous clouds that rolled in unexpectedly. We decided to go for it and boy am I glad that we did. As we started to shoot it got brighter out and there were only about five minutes of the rain sprinkling on us. The light was just perfect! They wanted to have a candid family session capturing the joy and happiness of their family. Their children kept me on my toes. They were so silly together making each other laugh, running around, and playing by the water. There were lots of snuggles and laughs to be had. We finished the evening with a beautiful sunset. I had such a great time with this wonderful family and can’t wait for the next time we get together.
