They had never been to Nantucket before and so they decided to have their summer vacation on the island. During the summer they spend a lot of time at her father’s summer home in northern NY. The highlights of their time there are enjoying boating, swimming, and of course family time. Their baby girl loves being in the water there and so one of the highlights of their trip to Nantucket was to show her the ocean. While they were here they wanted to eat at all the yummy restaurants, sightsee, and go to the beach. They are a low-key family that loves to just be together and enjoy the simple things in life. She had mentioned to me that they have almost had no pictures together as a family and definitely not professional. It was a perfect time to have their family session because their daughter was almost one and they were expecting. Since they were not familiar with the area they trusted me to pick the location. We met at one of my favorite spots, MiaComet Beach. I just love the natural landscape that includes budding roses, sandy paths, and billowy dunes. It was an overcast and windy day but, that didn’t stop us. Having it be overcast was a great thing because it made all the colors pop and made the ocean look tropical. They were so excited to be there and were so pleased with the location that I chose for them. They thought it was just so beautiful. We had a very relaxed and easy-going session. I just loved how happy they were and it was such a joy to photograph their sweet baby girl. She loved peek-a-boo, being tossed in the air and most of all loved playing in the sand. Since they were expecting we also made sure to capture this special time for them as well. Mama was beautiful, glowing, and kept smiling. We had such a great time together and finished their session with a gorgeous sunset. Looking forward to when we meet again and to being able to meet their newest addition.
