I just love the Madaket area and I typically don’t get to photograph in this location very often. I loved that the family I was photographing wanted to have their session here. It was a nice change in scenery. The Madaket area is so beautiful and has a lot to offer. There are beautiful walking trails, ponds, wildlife, boats, multiple beaches, and very scenic views. There is a delicious restaurant out there too called Millies. It is favored by many and it’s one of my favorite restaurants on the island. I especially love the tacos! Madaket has some of the best summer sunsets too. It’s a great place to get out of town and escape it all.

I met this sweet family on the most beautiful summer morning. The sun was shining, there were blue skies and pretty clouds. The ocean looked tropical with the most beautiful blue and turquoise colors. I just loved how green and pretty the dunes were too. You couldn’t have asked for a prettier morning. But, it sure was windy! They wanted to have a simple family session to capture their time together on vacation. When I photograph a family and we are a great fit it really is wonderful. It was like we knew each other for a while and we were just hanging out on the beach. The session flowed nicely and we were able to have a lot of fun together. We were always laughing and smiling. They were such a happy family and a joy to photograph. At the end of their session, they told me how much fun they had and how it was a great way to start their morning before they had a full day of doing fun things together. Looking forward to when I get to photograph this sweet family again.
