The Swift family has been coming to Cape Cod and Nantucket for vacation for many years. So these places have a special place in their hearts. This session was extra special to this family for a few reasons. They wanted to surprise their mother with a family session for her birthday! Such a thoughtful gift to give. They mentioned to me if you look through our family photos our Mother isn’t in a whole lot of them because she was the one always taking the pictures. She loves having pictures of the whole family and so they wanted to make sure that they had images to hang in their home for her to enjoy. Another reason why this session was extra special was that it was their last week together as a whole family for a while. Their youngest child was headed off to school right after their trip. When I found all this out I couldn’t wait to meet this family and photograph this special time for them.

I met this sweet family at Brant Point Lighthouse. One of my favorite places to photograph any occasion. It is such a gorgeous place and screams Nantucket. They wanted to have a beautiful family session that truly captured the essence of their family. We had so much fun together and we were always laughing. What a gorgeous Nantucket summer evening we had. Being able to capture this time for this wonderful family was so special.

Back in Christmas of 2019. Their daughter Brook sent me a video of them presenting the final gift to their Mother. They framed all their favorite images from their session in different sized frames to hang in their home along their staircase. She was absolutely blown away by the gift and was very emotional. I was filled with happiness when she sent me this video. I even started to tear up! It was so great to see how happy this gift made the entire family feel. Knowing that I was able to capture this time for this family and to then have those images hanging in their home for them to enjoy for many years is an amazing feeling. Looking forward to when I get to photograph this wonderful family again.
