The day finally arrived for Sophia and Declan’s engagement session. I was so excited to meet them after many months of planning. I met them first at Sankaty Lighthouse. A place that holds a lot of meaning for them. When I got there the sun came out which was amazing! We had a lot of fun all over the grounds of the lighthouse. Halfway through the first of the session, they asked me to be their photographer for their Nantucket wedding. I immediately said yes and I was so excited to hear the news!!!

On the way to our second location was this quaint little shelled road in Sconset I thought we should stop at. I loved this little spot and thought it was just perfect. It had the most gorgeous glowy light and with the green trees, the shelled road I thought it was a great location to capture some of the charm of Nantucket. We spent only a few minutes there before heading to the beach. When we arrived at the beach we were so lucky that one of the driveways nearby had beautiful flowers. Sophia wanted to have flowers for their session. So this spot was perfect! After just a couple of photos there we spent the rest of our time together on the beach having a great time. We had hoped to have had a beautiful sunset but the fog rolled in to give us that Nantucket feel and made the beach feel more private. Once we were all through I headed back to The Summer House Beachside Bistro with them to just snap a few before they had their special dinner. I wanted to make sure that I captured it all for them.

Photographing the love that these two have for each other was wonderful. They laughed and smiled during the entire time of their session. Declan and Sophia were so easy-going and fun to work with. We had a session that was candid and relaxed and that was exactly what they wanted. While on their shoot I felt I was spending time with friends. Having such an amazing session with them only made me more excited to photograph their beautiful Nantucket wedding.
